Eolk

Eolk is a tribes 2 player.

Overview

Eolk started as a silent tribes 2 player who frequented the Renegades mod servers. Renegades is his favorite mod for Tribes 1 and Tribes 2, and still thinks the mod can’t be beat. In Tribes 1, he played on the Renegades beta servers and found a few bugs here and there (bugs often related to sniping). When he came to Tribes 2, he still loved to snipe, and continued to do so with the rail gun.

When Renegades was laying on its deathbed, Eolk knew he must move on to a new mod. This mod is called RevMod2. There, Eolk frequented the RevMod servers. While he did not think RevMod2 even came close to Renegades, it was a suitable substitute, and played until that died also.

After RevMod2 died, Eolk became a nomadic warrior. He went around from server to server and played a game or two, then move on. Eolk finally found a server called “Miami Vehicles” and called it his home. Though never really involved in the community, Eolk was very fond of the server and always obeyed the rules as best as he could. He was never kicked (not even once) and became a somewhat trusted player. One day, after logging into tribes 2 ready for a nice game of Capture the Flag, he saw his favorite server did not show. He refreshed it multiple times, only to no avail. He immediately closed the game and rushed to the website. The website did not exist anymore. Thinking it was finally time to become a nomadic warrior again, Eolk started browsing servers again. He finally came upon a server called “Elite Warriors Online” which held a considerable amount of players. Eolk played on the server, liked it, and immediately favorited it. He now had a new home!

Soon, Eolk was plagued by another problem: the server would be moving to west coast. Disgusted, Eolk stormed out of the server without a sound and found himself in a construction server. The server seemed virtually empty compared to that of Elite Warriors Online. People will silently building complex structures in the distance. Eolk was disappointed by the fact that there were no weapons, however, he was amazed by the large, pretty building set in front of him. Eolk wanted to know how to build one of these structures, however, his questions were met with negative replies, and left shortly thereafter.

Eolk didn’t give up, though. He joined another server with just a lone player on it. Eolk shouted for assistance, but, there was no reply. Feeling compelled to build, Eolk layed out a long string of walkways attached to each other. Wanting to use another pack, he switched packs and started walking towards and inventory station, when, he remember a friend telling him that “{buyfavs” would get him his favorites quickly. When it didn’t work, the host, named “ConDude”, corrected him. The buyfavs command is really called “/bf”. Seeing that I was clearly a newbie, he taught me to build a basic “house” (if you could even call it that).

After this lesson, Eolk never saw ConDude again. Construction intrigued him quite a bit, and he continued to teach himself how to build. After a discouraging event on the server what is now known as “The-Construct.net BC” (then rawr32.net), Eolk continued to practice Construction on LAN. Soon after joining the online world of Tribes 2 again, a few kind members of the community decided to teach him how to script. It wasn’t long before Eolk was decent at both scripting and building.

Eolk isn’t a competitive player, so, he wasn’t in any ladders or competitive clans.
